Emergent Learning Centers now serves the entire state of Texas through telehealth, with a program built specifically for adolescents and young adults who have outgrown early intervention style ABA but have not outgrown the need for support. For many of these learners, the challenge is no longer labeling pictures or following instructions. It is navigating friendships, managing anxiety and frustration, handling change, and building a life that feels like their own. That is why our Texas telehealth program uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as its primary treatment model, a research-supported approach our clinical team has helped pioneer within behavior analysis, one that teaches flexibility with difficult thoughts and feelings, values-based decision making, and the social and emotional skills that adult life actually demands.
Because the program is fully remote, it reaches every corner of Texas equally: the largest metro areas, the smallest rural towns, and everywhere in between, with no commute, no waiting room, and no services lost when life gets busy. Both levels of care are delivered remotely: BCBAs design, oversee, and deliver programming, and RBTs provide direct one-to-one sessions, all from the comfort and privacy of home. That privacy matters at this age. Teens and young adults engage from their own space, on a schedule that works around school, jobs, and family life, and caregivers stay involved through regular coaching and progress reviews rather than guesswork. Goals are chosen with the learner, not just for them, because self-direction is itself one of the skills we are building. If traditional ABA once helped your child and no longer fits who they are becoming, this program was designed for exactly that moment.
