Located in the heart of downtown Highland, IL, our center is a historic house that has been creatively reimagined as a clinical care setting, and the home it once was is now its greatest therapeutic asset. A playground in the backyard, a working kitchen, and a full bath give our team advanced options for teaching adaptive life skills exactly where those skills belong: in the rooms of a real home. Children can practice cooking, self-care, and daily routines in authentic spaces, not simulated ones, which means what they learn at Highland transfers naturally to life at their own house.

Within this one-of-a-kind setting, the Highland team provides personalized care and innovative therapeutic approaches in a warm, supportive environment shaped around each learner. Welcoming, sensory-friendly spaces give children room to reset, self-regulate, and build confidence between sessions. Our experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) deliver individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy alongside specialized Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) based social skills interventions that strengthen emotional growth, communication, and everyday independence.
